Professor Jenny Gamble SFHEA, CF

Short biography:

Jenny Gamble is Professor and Head of Midwifery at Griffith University, Australia. Her research spans four program areas: Practice Translation – Generating and translating existing and new research into maternity care; Workforce – Identifying, evaluating and developing strategies that promote professionalism, collaboration, and support the emotional well-being of the maternity workforce; Education – Generating evidence to influence education standards, curriculum design, programs, and professional development opportunities to support the current and future maternity workforce and showcase best practice; and Health Promotion – Developing new ways to enhance the health of women and their families, and minimise their exposure to risks that threaten their health and well-being.

She is a national and international leader in maternity services reform, research and midwifery education. She has an extensive track record in working with both government and service providers to enhance maternity care. She is a member of the Australian College of Midwives and has held a range of executive positions including State and National President. She is a Churchill Fellow and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
