Patricia Leahy-Warren is Professor in maternal and infant health and Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery in UCC, Ireland. Patricia holds registrations for general nursing, midwifery and public health nursing and degrees at undergraduate, postgraduate, masters and PhD. Patricia is the Director of the Maternity, Families and Primary Care Research Group in the School and the research projects are focused on perinatal health of women, their infants and partners with particular interest in Social Support, Self-Efficacy, Postnatal Depression/Anxiety and exclusive breastfeeding. Her current project as Principal Investigator funded by the Health Research Board is an implementation science research design promoting exclusive breastfeeding across primary and secondary care from confirmation of pregnancy until 3 months post birth. She has both a national and international profile in the areas of maternity care, community and public health nursing. Patricia’s research profile ranks her amongst the most successful researchers in the disciplines of both nursing and midwifery in Ireland, with an international reputation in the area of maternal and child health. With publications of over 100 papers and book chapters, presented at over 100 International and national conferences and seminars including invitations as keynote speaker with a h-index 31, i10-index 54 (Google Scholar), H-index 22 (Scopus).
